Hey Reader - Simon here 👋 in the past, I probably spent more time tweaking my development setup than I’d like to admit. Every now and then I’ll discover a new tool and think: “How did I build apps without this?” This week I wanted to share the tools that have genuinely become part of my daily workflow - not because they’re shiny, but because they actually save me time. 🎥 React Native Tools That Actually Save TimeThere are a lot of dev tools out there. Some are fun to try. These are the ones I keep coming back to. In this video I share the React Native tools that have become part of my everyday workflow, from debugging and local development to AI-powered coding and deployment. One tool I just recently gave a try is Codemagic Patch. It's an OS alternative to Expo Updates that you can self-host. Here in Europe, August is vacation season. Things slow down. People spend more time outside. Projects pause. And honestly… I think that’s healthy. As developers it’s easy to feel like we always have to be shipping something. Sometimes the best thing you can do is recharge a bit, enjoy the sunny days, and come back with fresh motivation. The code will still be there next week. 🛠 What I’m buildingTo be honest, this has been one of those quieter weeks. I’ve been spending a lot of time with my daughter during her summer holidays, sneaking in a bit of WoW when I can, and fixing the occasional Tiny Harvest bug. Nothing groundbreaking. But that’s okay. Not every week needs a major release. Sometimes simply keeping things running - and taking time for life outside of work - is enough. That’s it for this week.
