🚀 Galactic News: State of React Native, API Routes & React Native Boost

Hey Reader,

The results are in! 📊

I've just published my analysis of the State of React Native 2024 survey, breaking down what over 3,000 developers had to say about the ecosystem.

My "quick" take (which turned into a deep dive 👀) covers all 18 sections of the survey - from the tools developers love to the pain points we're all still wrestling with.

Want to know which libraries are dominating the ecosystem? Or what developers think about the future of React Native? The full survey results are now available with some eye-opening charts that reveal where we're headed as a community.

Some other exciting developments caught my attention this week:

  • React Native Boost just launched - a clever Babel plugin that automatically optimizes your RN apps through static analysis (no manual optimization needed!)
  • Beto released another fantastic tutorial on Expo Router API Routes, with in-depth coverage of request handling and data streaming - definitely worth your time
  • There's a growing trend of React Native games hitting the stores - making me wonder, when will you ship your first mobile game?

I'm particularly interested in how the survey results match your experience.

Are you using the popular libraries? Facing the same challenges? Drop me a message with your thoughts!

Keep building amazing things,
Simon ✌️
